Kaya & Satsuki for European Tour 2012

Japanese visual kei artists Kaya and Satsuki will team up for a European tour slated for early 2012.

The two have revealed handful of dates and venues, announcing shows in Russia, France, Germany, Poland and Italy. However, only details on the London performance have been made public.

For the London show on February 21st, Kaya and Satsuki will share a stage with South Korea s all girl pop-rock band Storyseller, as well as Korean pop pianist Choi Soo Min at the Camden Underworld in London.

Kaya, a well-known act in the underground visual kei scene, was a member of the darkwave groups Schwarz Stein, Isola and Meties under the name Hime before he made a solo debut as 'Kaya'. Satsuki was the vocalist of Rentrer en Soi until the unit disbanded in 2008.

Berryz Koubou to Attend AnimeNEXT in 2012

Earlier today, it was announced that the Japanese idol group Berryz Koubou, managed under Morning Musume famed Hello! Project, will be attending "AnimeNEXT 2012" as a special musical guest.

This three day anime and manga convention takes place annually in New Jersey, USA, and is set to be held next year at Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset from June 8th to the 10th.

Currently, there is little additional information regarding the far-off convention, but stay tuned for as more details are released, and check out AnimeNEXT's official website here.

Kyary to Appear at Store Fashion Event in California

Model-turned-singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu will be making an appearance at the Rune Boutique World Debut Party on December 9th at Royal/T, Culver City, California.

The event celebrates “the roots of Kawaii” and features original designs from the late Rune Naito. Popular Harajuku-kei fashion brands Bubble Punch, 6%DOKIDOKI and MEDICOME TOY will also be appearing at the event.

Guests can expect an exhibition of original artwork by Naito, 6%DOKIDOKI’s first US fashion show featuring Kyary, a pop-up retail shop filled with limited-edition merchandise, a gift give away and more.

AYABIE Announces “Merry-Go-Round” Single

Band AYABIE announced that they will be releasing their a single, “Merry-Go-Round“, on January 25.

“Merry-Go-Round” will mark the group’s second single since making their major debut back in August. Limited editions Type A and B will each come with a DVD featuring a different version of the “Merry-Go-Round” music video. The regular edition will include the bonus track “Season”.

ViViD Announces First Single of 2012

What a better way for fans to bring in the new year than with a new single from ViViD!

The new single is titled message and is expected to be released on January 11th. Regular editions of the sinlge will include the songs message , ring , plus the bonus track "vanity". Limited editions types A and B will come with a DVD containing the music video for message plus other features that have not been revealed yet.

AKB48 Opens New Shop In Shanghai

AKB48 has expanded once again! This time, a new shop has had its grand opening!

The new shop is located in one of China's biggest cities, Shanghai. This marks AKB48's 4th overseas shop. Other international shop locations include Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.

The grand opening event featured an appearance from group members Kitahara Rie, Miyazawa Sae, and Yokoyama Yui who meet and greeted thousands of Chinese fans who came out to see them.

AKB48 merchandise is now available to purchase online in China with the opening of this store.

girl next door Announces 4th Album "AGARUNEKU!"

After releasing their 3rd studio album "Destination" earlier this year, girl next door has announced that they will be releasing another album before the year ends. The group will be releasing their 4th studio album "AGARUNEKU!" on December 28th.

The album will include 13 tracks, including the singles "Dadapara!!", "ROCK YOUR BODY", and "Boogie Woogie Night". In addition, the album will include the new song "snowflakes". The song is currently being used in the H.I.S winter campaign CM and is described to be a pure winter love song.

"AGARUNEKU!" will come in 3 different version: CD Only, CD+DVD and CD + Live DVD. The regular DVD comes with 4 different music videos, while the live DVD comes with footage from their "girl next door 'LIVE Destination'" tour. Check out the covers and track list below:

Bandai Entertainment to Close Online Store in December

Bandai Entertainment announced Wednesday that it will be closing its online store on December 29.

Bandai has begun to sell store items at a discounted price and noted that customers who accumlated any points through the store purchases must use their points before the store closes.

Bandai will continue to sell DVDs, Blu-rays and other products through other retailers.

Nana Eikura to Star Alongside Tomohisa Yamashita in New Drama

As we've previously reported, Tomohisa Yamashita will be taking the lead role in an upcoming drama series, "Saikou no Jinsei no Owarikata ~“Ending Planner~".

Nana Eikura will be playing a police detective who meets and works alongside a funeral director (played by Yamapi) to solve homicidal/suicidal mysteries. According to Tokyograph, Nana and Yamapi have worked together in the past in 2007's "Proposal Daisakusen".

Now that we've gotten the main characters out of the way, AKB48's Atsuko Maeda, Takashi Sorimachi, Ito Ono, as well as Hey! Say! JUMP's Yuri Chinen will also be joining the cast as Yamapi's siblings.

The drama will begin shooting in December, with a scheduled slot of Thursday nights at 9:00PM on TBS this coming January.

Blood-C Film Titled Announced

Monthly Shonen Ace magazine will be announcing Saturday that the upcoming Blood-C film will be titled, Blood-C: The Last Dark.

The last episode to the TV series was aired in September and revealed that the film will be opening in theatres June 2, 2012.

The series and character designs were developed by CLAMP with Production I.G. animating the project.

'Shining' Series of PSP Games Gets Anime Adaption

Weekly Shonen Jump will be announcing this week that the Shining series of games will be receiving a TV anime adaption.

The new anime will be titled Shining Blade x Hearts and will be produced by Production I.G. The staff will be the same as for the Sakura Taisen anime. No word yet as to when the anime will air.

Shining Blade was previously announced as the next game in the Shining series. The game will be released in Spring 2012 for the PSP in Japan.

Hana Shounen Baddies Announce the Return of Billy?

To the fans of Hana Shounen Baddies and Billy, prepare yourselves for this one.

Rock group Hana Shounen Baddies have announced that they are going on a “hiatus” after their fall tour Boys Ride Bicycle. However, the pause on refers to doing live shows. Baddies will continue to work on media, and blogs, and then return in 2012 with a full-length album titled “Bible”.

As fans may already know, before becoming Hana Shounen Baddies in 2009, this same group was known as simply as Billy. Apparently, BADDIES are proud to announce that Billy is back! Billy will hold two live shows on January 14th and 15th at Ikebukuro Blackhole in Tokyo. Then on January 18th, Billy will release a new single called “Marigold”.

As if that wasn’t enough, Hana Shounen Baddies plans to release a cover album of Billy songs. Titled “Breed”, the album will be also be released on January 18th.

We’re unsure which is more interesting: Baddies/Billy’s music or their antics.

Anxyz Back with New PV

Rock band Anxyz (pronounced anxious) just released their new single
"Kimi no, Kimi ni yoru, Kimi no tame no monogatari" on November 4th.

Anxyz is a three-piece band consisting of Shinou Ryou (Vo), takeshi (G), and Yokota Yuya (Dr). Shinou originally worked as a regular guy until one day he thought to himself, "I don't want to give up on my dream. I have to chase it again." He called on takeshi and Anxyz was formed. Yokota later joined, and until now, they've been a band based in Kansai.

Their latest music video, “Kimi no, Kimi ni yoru, Kimi no tame no monogatari” (of you, because of you, story for you), is a funny clip that shows how even if you’re a rock star girls can still treat you like dirt. Check it out below.

Amuro Namie Cancels Yokohama Show, Upper Respiratory Inflammation

According to music site Natalie, Amuro Namie’s concert at Yokohama Arena, scehduled to be held today November 6, was cancelled due the singer recently being diagnosed with acute upper respiratory inflammation.

The concert was a part of Amuro Namie’s nationwide tour “namie amuro LIVE STYLE 2011“. Although the show was originally going to be held as planned, it was cancelled after a last-minute discussion between Amuro and staff.

A rescheduled concert will be held on December 27th at the same venue. Ticket purchases for the rescheduled concert will still be valid. The details on a refund will be announced on Amuro Namie’s site November 8.

Sentai Filmworks Acquires 'A Channel' and 'Un-Go'

Sentai Filmworks has announced that they have acquired the anime series A Channel and Un-Go.

A Channel will be released in February 2012. The 12-episode series is based off the four-panel bb Kuroda. It revolves around the life of four high school girls.

No release date is set for Un-Go. Un-Go is being simulcasted by Crunchyroll and follows Shinjūrō and Inga who must work together and solve mysteries within a near future timeline.

AKB48 to Get Anime Next Spring

Nikkan Sports has reported that AKB48 will be getting an anime, which will air next spring. The title of the project as well as the station it will broadcast on are not known.

The anime will follow nine idol candidates who dream of being "legendary idols". The members of the group will be battling one another in auditions to be the voice actors in the project and their rankings in the "general elections" will not be a factor. 30 will be selected and announced in November with the finals to be held publicly. Nine will be chosen and the final girls will also perform the theme song.

Shoji Kawamori, co-creator of the Macross franchise, is the project's planner and chief director. Toshimichi Ootsuki, executive producer of Evangelion 1.0, will be the executive producer of the new project. AKB48's producer, Yasushi Akimoto is planning and supervising the project. Mari Okada will be supervising and writing the scripts with Mikan Ehime (Macross Frontier) to design the characters. Satelight will be animating the series.

"Wait First! (Surprised) I think I know this guy ... but I do not know his name! HME ... yes he is helping me when I was confronted by two criminals! "Word Fuko

AKB48: What would it look like if YOU had a baby with a member?

AKB48’s Internet provider service, AKB Official Net, officially opened on November 1st and it is already causing controversy.

Registering for membership on AKB Offical Net allows members access to the service AKBaby, which morphs a users photo with an image of their favorite AKB48 member to simulate how their child could possible if they were to have a baby.

The homepage shows Yuko Oshima breast-feeding an infant with the caption: “Watashi to akachan tsukaranai? / Want to have a baby with me?” Some fans call the feature distasteful and point out how some AKB48 members are underaged.

The membership fee is 1,480 yen a month and allows members their own AKB48 email address plus advance access to AKB48 theater tickets.

AKB48 Official Net plans to add more services for AKB48 fans in the coming weeks.
